WELCOME TO THE BAS ARCHIVES
For more than four decades, Bnei Akiva Schools of Toronto has been developing outstanding Bnei and Bnot Torah who are immersed in Torah, Ahavat Yisrael, Derech Eretz, and social responsibility towards the Jewish and secular communities in Canada and around the world.
Back in the early 1970s, all this was but a dream. Yeshivat Or Chaim officially opened in September 1973 with 29 students in Grades 10, 11 and 12. A year later, in September 1974, Ulpanat Orot opened its doors in a Thornhill house with 23 girls enrolled for grades 10 and 11.
As word spread of Toronto’s new modern Orthodox high school, parents and students from across North America began to take notice. Today, the school boasts more than 250 students, and has achieved everything its founders had dreamed about.
We are pleased to dedicate the Archives to the students and their families who have made Or Chaim and Ulpana what they are today.
May we continue to go from strength to strength, and to preserve the many special memories created at Bnei Akiva Schools.
